GOODYEAR TV PLAYHOUSE

October 14, 1951 to September 12, 1960

NBC Sun Oct 1951-Sep 1957 9:00-10:00 (one hour format)

NBC Mon Sep 1957-Sep 1960 9:30-10:00 (1/2 hour format)

The series ran on alternate weeks with Philco Television Playhouse.

In the fall of 1955 the title was shortened to Goodyear Playhouse

and a new sponsor took the alternate Sundays with The Alcoa Hour.

By 1957 the series moved to Monday nights and was reduced to half an hour

and was on film rather than live.

It still alternated with Alcoa but the overall title for the series was "A Turn of Fate",

which was dropped by February 1958.

There was to be a rotating roster of regulars (David Niven, Robert Ryan,

Jane Powell, Charles Boyer and Jack Lemmon) but the concept didn't work out as expected.

Producer Fred Coe (1951-55)
