Synopsis:
A professional heavyweight boxer is burned out after fourteen years
in the ring. When during his last fight he is sold out by his devious
manager, he struggles to find new meaning in his life. [RF]

Synopsis 1:
Sizeman owns a dress-manufacturing business in New York City.
When his son was born, he added the words "and Son" to the name
of the company, hoping that they would work together some day.
Then the son returns from the Korean War a changed man. Regarding
himself as a savior of the common man from the greed of the bosses,
he disrupts the happy working atmosphere at Sizeman and Son´s. [RF]

Synopsis 2:
The son of a Manhattan dress manufacturer returns from the Korean war

with a new social and political ideals which disrupt the happy working

 atmosphere at the plant when he tries to put them into practice. [FMN]

Synopsis 1:
The unexplainable death of a young man's fiancee while waiting for him on

a street corner sets off a series of seemingly unrelated murders in the city. [FMN]
Synopsis 2:
"Rendezvous in black" is about Johnny Marr who finds his fiancee killed
by something dropped off a plane - an accident, pure and simple. This
triggers a fundamental reaction in Johnny -- a gruesome fate awaits the
passengers of that plane. [RF]
*Note: This story is from Cornell Woolrich's Black series of novels from
the 40's. The other novels are The Bride Wore Black, The Black Curtain,
The Black Alibi, The Black Angel, The Black Path of Fear and Rendezvous
in Black. Woolrich is known as the father of "noir" and is most remembered

Synopsis 1:
After a close brush with death, a businessman intends to live each

Synopsis 1:
A threatened divorce by Eloise's parents, causes the little
mischievous imp to act out and spy on her tutor who is having

Synopsis 1:

Shortly after the death of a wealthy civic leader, Leland T. Mathewson,
reporter Ben Birch is assigned to do a series on his life. As he
interviews the man's daughter and son, he feels they are withholding
information from him. Since Mathewson's life appears to be highly
respectable, Birch can't understand the secrecy. Then he learns from the
dead man's valet that Mathewson left a letter divulging his part in a
public swindle. Birch immediately sets out to uncover the fraud, little

Synopsis:
A drama set in 1860s Colorado about the tragically manipulative ways
of a U.S. Army colonel who forces the Cheyenne to fight a battle they
want to avoid. Seeking fame and the rank of a general, the self-serving
colonel drives the Cheyenne warriors into an unprotected region known as
Sand Creek. Despite the efforts of a young U.S. soldier intent on saving

The Indian-hating colonel in charge of troops stationed in Kansas forces the Cheyennes

When a beleaguered inventor completes a time-traveling machine he dubs
"the Star Wagon," he uses it himself, going back to examine his own life,

A timid inventor who works for a an exploitive boss spends company time collaborating

 with his boyhood friend on a time machine. When the boss fires the inventor and orders

the machine destroyed, the two friends decide to go back in the machine to 1926 when

Synopsis 1:

On her deathbed a wealthy New York widow tells her attorney that she wants to change

her will, which leaves her fortune to Harvard University, in favor of the baby she had

abandoned more than 60 years earlier. When she dies before signing the new will,

a legal struggle breaks out between Harvard, the now middle-aged child,

Synopsis 1:
Young Helen Keller, blind, deaf, and mute since infancy because of a
severe case of scarlet fever, is in danger of being sent to an institution.
Her inability to communicate has left her frustrated and violent.
Unable to communicate her desires, the isolated Helen flew into uncontrollable
rages that terrified her helpless family. In desperation, her parents seek help
from the Perkins Institute, which sends them a "half-blind Yankee schoolgirl"
named Annie Sullivan to tutor their daughter. [RF]

Synopsis 2:
Late in the 19th century, an institution for the blind sends a 21-year-old Irish girl

 to work with a child who's unable to see, hear or speak. [FMN]

Synopsis 1:
Sammy Hogarth has reached the top of his profession as a TV comedian.
But though his audience loves him, his co-workers hate him. They know him
as an egotistical, petty tyrant. What keeps them from quitting is money--his
salaries are the best in the business. Hogarth's head writer is Al Preston,
and Al is in a jam. He has run out of ideas, can't think up anything Sammy
will accept for the next show. In fact, Sammy threatens to fire Al unless he

Synopsis 1:
A drama about the numerous obstacles faced by a young student who is intent
on becoming the first woman doctor in the United States. Set in the late 1830's,

Synopsis:
Monroe Stahr, an old pro, heads a movie studio that seems headed for
financial trouble. Under pressure from the stockholders to turn out a

Synopsis:
Charley's real aunt, Donna Lucia ("from Brazil -- where the nuts come

Dublin City South 1927-65. Elected to Dublin City Council 1930; lord

of the World Zionist Organization to seek international support for the
settlement of Jews in Palestine 1939. Toured the Middle East on a
trade mission 1945, the first of many to publicize Irish goods abroad. [RF]
Synopsis 2:
In 1918, at the age of 23, Briscoe is swept up in the fever of the
Irish rebellion against Britain. He joins the Irish Republican Army
and becomes a follower of Eamon de Valera and a member of the Sinn Fein,
an Irish nationalist movement working to establish home rule for Ireland.
Briscoe carries out man secret assignments for the cause of freedom.
By day he works as a respectable wool salesman, by night as a notorious
arms smuggler, "Capt. Swift". Then a truce with England results in a split
between the Sinn Fein and the Irish Republican Army which sets Irishman
against Irishman. Briscoe continues the battle, this time against the Irish

Synopsis 1:

Synopsis 1:
A respected attorney comes out of retirement to defend his lawyer son, who faces

disbarment proceedings on the charge that he withheld evidence in order to win

an acquittal in a murder trial. [FMN]

Synopsis 2:
The day after he succeeds in gaining an acquittal for his client in a murder trial,

 young Scott Arlen turns over to the court additional evidence pertaining to the case

 - evidence he claims has just been discovered. District Attorney Forrest Garvin

 accuses Arlen of deliberately withholding the evidence till after the trial.

Then he institutes disbarment proceedings, and Arlen calls in a more experienced
